안녕하세요! Hello everyone~! This is a repost of an old blog:
Today, I wanted to share with you guys how to teach your child to do writing activities in Korean. A gift my in-laws bought for my daughter brought on the idea for this blog post. It is the Pinkfong Baby Shark write-and-erase reusable workbook set. The set includes a hangul workbook, ABCs workbooks, and a numbers workbook. In Korean, it is called 핑크퐁 아기상어 썼다지웠다 한글 + 숫자 + 알파벳 3종 세트.
Writing practice should be appropriate for kids ages 3 and up. Kids ages 3–4 should work on pre-writing lines and may also work on the letters in their names if they show interest. Kids 5–6 can work on all the letters in the alphabet. Older children learning hangul, of course, can learn it at any age. Every child is different. Some may not be developmentally ready to write, so follow the lead of your child!
My daughter is not quite 3 yet, but the books are really high quality, and I love the clean and fun design the book has. They are stunning to look at. Because of the fun baby shark design, my daughter is excited to use the books and to start writing, so we let her use one of the books to practice writing. As she is a bit too young for the books, she mostly enjoyed just scribbling on them. It’s a good thing these are reusable! I will have to update you guys on these books once she is old enough to use them! For now, I’m planning to buy her some prewriting workbooks to help her get started in writing.
Anyway, I thought that I would share with you guys some writing workbooks and how to talk about and use them in Korean.
Here are links to purchase the workbooks:

How to Use Them
I was lucky to find that there are walkthroughs of all three baby shark books on Youtube. Here I will link the videos, and I will also put applicable vocabulary and sentences below the video for you guys to reference!! While instructions can be explained in English, I think it is a great opportunity to explain the instructions in Korean and to use these books during Korean speaking time or Korean lessons. While the original video is in formal Korean (존댓말), I’ve put the sample sentences in casual Korean (반말).
