These games are all vocabulary-based and quite easy for non-native caregivers to participate in as well. These games are fun for kids ages 4-12 (and maybe even younger). Use a variety of Korean flashcards covering many categories. You can find Korean flashcards here at Korean at Home (coming soon!).
#1 Memory Game 메모리 게임
Flip the cards to discover matching pairs while reviewing words or expressions. Continue playing until every match has been found.
#2 Color Hunt 색깔 찾기 놀이
Pick a color, then search indoors or outside for objects that match it. Say the names of each item in the Korean as you find them. If you are non-native, feel free to use a dictionary or do some preparation ahead of time to make it more like a scavenger hunt.

#3 Bubble Talk 거품 놀이
Blow soap bubbles and have your child say specific words or expressions in Korean before you blow more bubbles. This makes learning fun and interactive!
#4 Leap to the Card 카드 점프 놀이
Arrange the picture cards on the floor or outside, leaving enough space for the child to jump from one to another. Call out a word and have the child jump to the matching card. Then switch roles so the child can call out words for you to jump to.
#5 Swat it! 카드 스왓
Lay out picture cards and say a word or expression aloud. The child quickly swats the matching card with a flyswatter. Speed up the pace to make the game more challenging and fun. If you have multiple children, you can make it a competition as well.
#6 Race to the Card 카드까지 달리기
Spread picture cards around the room or outdoors. Say a word aloud, and have the child run to find and touch the matching card. Mix up the card locations and movement types to keep the game exciting and active.
#7 Charades 샤레이드
Act out words or phrases for the child to guess, then have them take a turn acting out for you. This encourages movement, creativity, and fun language practice.
#8 Act it out! 행동 카드
Create a deck of cards with pictures or text showing different actions. Players draw a card, say the action out loud in the target language, and then act it out—jump like a bunny, spin around, or clap your hands.
#9 Category Challenge 카테고리 챌린지
Pick a category such as animals, foods, or colors. Players take turns naming items in that category, trying not to repeat any or hesitate, until someone can’t think of an answer. Add in a ball to throw. You have to say the word as you catch it.
#10 Bilingual Bingo 빙고
Prepare bingo boards using words or pictures. Players take turns drawing cards and covering the matching squares on their boards. The first player to complete five in a row wins!
